While not all productions require an audition, we highly recommended that you book a time to share your talent with us. When open auditions are available, you will be presented with booking options after completing registration.

Regina Jones – Lead actress of the movie SCREAMGIRLS & queen bee of the movie set

Effie Wieners – actress who both is looking to steal Regina’s stardom and also use it for her own gains

Karen Robinson – Ditz of the group, can never remember her lines

Curtis Duvall – Director of the movie SCREAMGIRLS

Jenn Coco – Assistant to Curtis Duvall

Damian Sparkles – Hair and Makeup for the movie set

Detective Norberry Gumshoe – detective investigating the murder on set

Kaddy Morris – murdered actress on the set of SCREAMGIRLS (never seen on stage)

SPRING AWAKENING – the early 2000’s rock musical presented at Art Sanctuary. Casting for all ages, types, gender identities available. Presented by Prism Performing Arts.

Wendla – Innocent. With every passing day, she grows more curious about the world around her and her changing body. Both vulnerable and a willing participant in her evolution. Explores her newly-found sexuality with Melchior.

Melchior – A smart, headstrong boy who refuses to bow down to society’s rules. An atheist and radical student. Struggles with his intense feelings for Wendla and his awakening sexual urges.

Martha – A schoolgirl who faces constant physical abuse from her father. She harbors a secret crush towards Moritz.

Moritz – Melchior’s best friend, a troubled student. He desperately tries to please his father, but always seems to disappoint him. His haunting sexual dreams and academic failures eventually drive him to suicidal thoughts.

Thea – Wendla’s best friend. A schoolgirl who tries to stay innocent and pure.

Hanschen – A rather narcissistic schoolmate of Melchior’s. He is comfortable with his own sexuality and uses his looks and intelligence to captivate Ernst. Optional Doubling as RUPERT.

Anna – A German schoolgirl and Martha’s best friend. Optimistic and a bit naive, she has a difficult time understanding Martha’s trials.

Ernst – A schoolmate of Melchior’s. Naive and easily manipulated, which allows him to fall in love with Hanschen. Optional Doubling as REINHOLD.

Ilse – Martha’s sister, who was also abused and has run away from home to live in an artists’ colony. She reaches out to her old friend Moritz in the last moments of his life.

Georg – A clumsy schoolmate of Melchoir’s. He is overcome with his feelings for his piano teacher. Optional Doubling as DIETER.

Otto – A classmate of Melchior’s. He struggles with feelings he considers inappropriate. Optional Doubling as ULBRECHT.

Adult Man – Plays a variety of rigid adult roles. ALICE IN DERBYLAND – the annual Derby Drag musical returns for a sixth year. Casting for all ages, types, gender identities available. Presented by Prism Performing Arts.

Jockey-Dee – Curious resident of derbyland who mainly appears during dance numbers and scene transitions, speaks language only their twin and the Delta Queen can understand.

Jockey-Dum – Curious resident of derbyland who mainly appears during dance numbers and scene transitions, speaks language only their twin and the Delta Queen can understand.

AUDITION PREPARATION

Please know your availability for the two months prior to any of the productions you are interested in casting for. You will be asked to provide this information either during open auditions or via an electronic form sent to you by email and/or text message.

1. On the day of your audition, expect to arrive at least ten minutes early to complete check-in and answer any additional questions that may be requested by the production team. Please limit the amount of personal belongings you bring with you, as you will need to take them with you into the audition space.

2. You will need to prepare a one-minute dramatic or comedic monologue of your choice. You may also be asked to read from one or more additional sides. These materials will be sent to you shortly after you complete registration.

3. You may choose to perform either one song of your choosing from the show you prefer -or- one song from each show you wish to be cast for. Tracks will be provided electronically prior to auditions.

4. You may be asked to return on Saturday, August 30th for callbacks, either during your audition or via text message after. If you are not able to return on this day, please make sure you note this during your audition.

CASTING REGISTRATION

OPEN AUDITIONS ARE CURRENTLY BEING HELD AUGUST 24TH THRU 26TH

If you are interested in being cast in one of our upcoming productions, complete the casting registration process below. Once you have finished, if an open audition is currently available, you will be directed to our booking system to reserve an audition time. In advance of the audition, you will receive additional instructions and preparation materials by email.

You may request additional roles at any time, by completing this form an additional time and selecting any new roles you want to be considered for. You do not need to book a second audition when adding additional roles.

If you did not book an audition time slot when you completed your initial registration and would like to do so now, click here to book your audition now. You must complete registration in order to audition.

If for any reason you need to cancel or reschedule, we highly encourage you to use the booking confirmation email or text message you received in order to cancel or change your audition time. We only have a limited number of audition times available and would like to offer everyone a chance to participate. You can reschedule your audition up to ten minutes before any available time slot on any available day! If for any reason you are unable to find a suitable time slot, please reach out to us.
